It’s not cool!

Photography & Business Training

Learning and understanding the Business side of Photography is definitely NOT the glamorous side of photography.  The business side of this job to so many photographers seems boring and unexciting!

But, believe me, when I say this, it really is important!  You can be the most brilliant photographer in the world, take amazing photographs but without knowledge on pricing your product, marketing, and understanding how to sell your photography you might as well be throwing cash out of the window.

I am running two Business Courses during November, one in Northern Ireland (Sun 6th Nov – limited places available) and one in the East Midlands , Junction 22 M1  (Sun 20th Nov).

So come inside from the cold and find out more!

The Week that Was!

The Week that Was!

Julie Oswin

Welcome!  I wanted to share with you some of the feedback we have received from the photographers who attended the 2018 Photography Masters.  We have received cards, flowers, emails, text messages and phone calls, the trainers and I have been overwhelmed by the response to this successful UK residential course.  Here is a little insight into the week that was, May 2018.

The course SOLD OUT with 18 delegates attending.  The weather for the week wasn’t very hopeful as rain was forecast on a daily basis.  But, we were fortunate, the rain didn’t stop play until the fourth day!  But, in true British wedding photographers style, we continued working in the rain as you would have to do on a wedding day, and to quote John and Sandra Parris “our job doesn’t stop because of the rain…we carry on.”

The photography trainers this year have been fantastic, they shared their knowledge and expertise generously with the delegates and nothing was too much trouble.   The venue,  staff and the food were superb which all contributed to a great week and added to the atmosphere.

I would personally like to take this opportunity to personally thank John & Sandra Parris, Justin Harris, Ozzie Malik for doing such a fantastic job.  Not forgetting Vicki who looked after us all and made sure everything ran smoothly.  And, last but not least, the photographers who made the week so special.

See below for a little video created of the ‘behind the scenes images of the week.’

“I attended The Photography Masters course this year in May 2018 which was held at the fabulous venue, Chateau Impney Hotel. I can’t even begin to express my appreciation for the knowledge and confidence I have gained since this course. Although I have been photographing weddings for ten years, I had kind of fell out of love with photographing them. I booked your course several months in advance with the idea of learning new skills and hopefully let me fall in love with my wedding photography again! And I did!

Since the course, in May I have now photographed five weddings and my images have changed for the better. I wanted to learn about using off-camera flash and I have now upgraded my lights to put into practice all my new skills. At weddings now I am so excited to get my bride and grooms outside and into the grounds and give them something different to anything I have photographed before.

Your course covered everything for me, natural lighting, looking for the right light, making available light and also providing light (OCF) Your Wedding Photography Masters also offered so much more than I expected with new techniques from photographing to editing. You have somehow managed to re-lite my passion for wedding photography and for that I am most grateful.

I would love to be able to do your course again next year but with bookings, I can’t. However, I feel there is so much to be learnt within the four-day residential course that I have booked my second shooter on the next course in May 2019. There is not much more I can add, but a whole hearted thank you, Julie, for putting on this course and for the knowledge I have learnt from the course and the new friends I made. Thank you is all I can say”.
